Blogging Angola: It’s time to Ratify the Convention on Cluster Munitions

After my trip to Angola, I am convinced that while Angola has a substantial landmine problem, the contamination from cluster munitions is minimal.  In 2008, Angola signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions, but has yet to ratify the Convention.  It’s past time for Angola to ratify the Convention and while my opinion may not carry much weight with the Government of Angola, I’m happy to express it all the same.  Here’s the piece I wrote for the Cluster Munition Coalition calling on Angola to ratify the Convention:

  1. Mike Kendellen says:

Even characterizing the cluster munition problem as minimal is over stating the contamination.
